On 4 June 2021, REACT project hosted its 2nd webinar as partner event in the 2021 EU Green Week, Europe’s biggest environmental event; this year’s edition focused on zero pollution and how to create a world where pollution in no longer harmful for people’s health and ecosystems.

The “Removing Harmful Chemicals from Textile Waste” webinar addressed circularity challenges in the textile sector and tackled different innovative methods to recycle textile materials, ranging from polycotton to acrylic fabrics.

After a first introduction of REACT by the Project Coordinator Roberto Vannucci (CENTROCOT), Alessandro Sanzone (GR3N SA, DEMETO project), Jens Oelerich (Saxion University of Applied Sciences) and Valentina Trovato (University of Bergamo) set the scene sharing insights on making polyester circular (Sanzone), increasing closed loop post-consumer textile recycling (Oelerich), removing chemicals from post-consumer outdoor textile (Trovato).
